Hi there! My name is Alita.

I’m a psychotherapist based in Aberdeen, Scotland. I see clients virtually, so as long as you’re somewhere in the United Kingdom, we can work together! I am also currently working on finding the perfect space for in-person sessions, so if you’re hoping for in-person sessions, please do still get in touch.

I have more in-depth information in other tabs on my page, but here’s the basic information you’re probably after.

My Approach

I believe it is most helpful to clients when I show up as my authentic self in sessions, so you can expect a lot of warmth, metaphors and examples, and a candid approach to therapy. My goal is to provide a safe space for you to process and heal, offering you practical tools, empathic listening, and non-judgmental exploration of what you bring to therapy.

Therapy Details

I work with a variety of mental health concerns, including:

  • Anxiety & anxiety-related issues
  • Relational difficulties
  • Perfectionism
  • People pleasing
  • Stress
  • Self-harm
  • Eating disorders
  • Big life transitions

If any of this sounds like what you’re struggling with, then please reach out, because we might be a good match! My sessions are £75 each. If finances are a concern, I do have a very limited number of pay-what-you-can slots available for those in university or in the midst of significant life transitions. All sessions are held online using a platform called Cliniko, which is a secure, end-to-end encrypted platform that ensures everything you share in session remains confidential and protected. More information about therapy sessions can be found here.

My Background

I have a BSc in Psychology from Oregon State University (I grew up in the United States, but am living in Scotland now!). I also have an MSc in Applied Psychology from Robert Gordon University and an MSc in Person-Centred Counselling from the University of Aberdeen. I have additional training in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Radically Open Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (RO-DBT), and trauma-informed care. This means that my core therapy training is in the Person-Centred approach, but I also incorporate psychological concepts and have lots of evidence-based tools to offer you in our work together.

Enneagram Personal Development

I also am an accredited Enneagram practitioner through Integrative Enneagram Solutions. The Enneagram is a model of 9 different personality types that can be used to gain a deeper understanding of your motivations, fears, behaviours, and relationship patterns. If this is something that interests you, we can incorporate this into your existing therapy sessions. Alternatively, if you’re not interested in therapy but are interested in the insight you can gain through the Enneagram, I do offer personal-growth focused sessions using the Enneagram model. All my Enneagram sessions begin with an online assessment created by Integrative Enneagram Solutions to help determine what your primary type might be. The initial personal report is £45-£90 (depending on which report you’d like), and sessions are £75 each. The couples report is £90, and the debrief session is £150. More information about these sessions can be found here.
